Dale E. Knife, Sr., age 81 of Troy, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017 in the Hospice Unit of Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born March 3, 1936 in Troy to the late Dale E. and Ella A. (Anderson) Knife.

Dale is survived by his wife of 60 years Linda Ruth (Buirley) Knife, whom he married January 19, 1957. Other survivors include three sons: Dale E. Knife, Jr. of Tucson, AZ, Raymond (Kimberly) Knife of Troy, and Carl Knife of Story, WY; four grandchildren; and brother and sister-in-law Robert and Barbara Knife of Troy.

Dale was a US Air Force Veteran, having served six years. He was a Troy High School graduate and a member of First United Church of Christ, Troy. He was a lifetime member of both AmVets Post 88 and Troy Fish and Game Club. He retired in 2007 from the oil fields in Wyoming after 30 years of service as a soil tester.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Hospice of Miami County and Upper Valley Medical Center for all of their help.

A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Rev. David Ramming officiating. Military Honors will follow by the Veteran’s Memorial Honor Guard of Troy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Miami County: PO Box 502, Troy, OH 45373. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
