Ellen J. Adams, age 59 of Covington, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Covington Care Center. She was born August 10, 1958 in Troy to Howard and Marjorie (Cox) Swinehart.

Ellen is survived by her mother Marjorie Swinehart of Milton, FL; husband Randy Adams; sister Ruth Higbee of Troy; half-brother Brian Swinehart of CA; half-sister Kristen Swinehart of FL; sister-in-law Tami Adams of Covington; uncle and aunt Kay and Phyllis Hunt of Bellefontaine; uncle Jan Hunt of Bradenton, FL; as well as two nieces: Chelsea Higbee of Dayton and Alison Smith of Elkhart, IN; and two nephews: Austin Higbee of Troy and Matthew Swinehart of South Bend, IN.

She was preceded in death by her father Howard Swinehart and brother Dale Swinehart.

Ellen was a 1976 graduate of Troy High School. She was a member of Troy Eagles Auxiliary #971 and American Legion Auxiliary Post 43 in Troy. She retired from the medical records department of Miami Valley Hospital.

A funeral service will be held 12:00PM Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Ellen’s aunt Phyllis Hunt officiating. Visitation will be 10:00AM-12:00PM at the funeral home prior to service. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
