Janet L. Studebaker, age 67 of Troy, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. She was born May 2, 1949 in Piqua to the late Byron and Francis (Knife) Hicks.

Janet is survived by daughter Jennifer Studebaker of Troy; son and daughter-in-law John and Tricia Studebaker of Troy; three grandchildren: Erica, Zackary, and Nathan Sharits; brother Richard Hicks of Atlanta, GA; and stepmother Deloris Hicks of Troy.

Janet was a member of First United Church of Christ, Troy, where she was also a choir member for several years. She graduated from Clarkston High School in Atlanta, GA, and from the University of Georgia where she majored in Music. She was Den Mother for the Lost Creek Chrome Divas, and a former member of Pocahontas of Troy. She enjoyed Desert Star and Shadow Facts Band and her beloved cat, Ashley. She retired in 2013 from Jet Express Trucking Co. in Dayton after 20 years of service in the Human Resources Department.

A memorial service will be held 3:30PM Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy. Visitation will be from 1:30PM-3:30PM at the funeral home prior to the service. A private interment will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to RT Industries, Troy or the David L. Brown Youth Center, Troy. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
