Jerry L. Caplinger, age 64 of Piqua, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in the Emergency Room of Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. He was born November 18, 1952 in Troy to the late Paul and Eunice (Broughton) Caplinger.

Jerry is survived by his companion of 24 years Cheryl Stapleton of Piqua; sister and brother-in-law Helen and Don Smith of Troy; brother and sister-in-law Randy and Mary Beth Ferguson of Celina; aunt and uncle Barbara and Jim Broughton of Troy; daughter Jerrica Caplinger of Dry Ridge, KY; son Jeff Binkley of Tipp City; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by sister Wanda Haywood and twin sister Mary LeVan.

Jerry was a fan of NASCAR, and a longtime Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan. He worked as a Tow Motor Operator for IAC in Sidney, and was previously employed at Industry Products in Piqua.

Funeral service will be held 2:00PM Friday, March 31, 2017 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Rev. David Ramming officiating. Visitation will be held 5:00PM-8:00PM Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.
