Lewis M. Garvey, age 88 of Pleasant Hill, formerly of Burnside, KY, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Troy Care Center. He was born June 14, 1928 in Greenville to the late Edward William and Dorothy (Paulen) Garvey.

Lewis is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ramona (Hebb) Garvey; son Michael Garvey of Hawaii; two daughters and sons-in-law: Connie and Eldon Atkinson of Burnside, KY, and Sue Ann and Thomas Hemmerle of Pleasant Hill; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law James and Rita Garvey of Columbus; and sister Mary Jane Dubbs of Troy.

He was preceded in death by one grandchild; one great-grandchild; two brothers: William Garvey and Richard Garvey; and two sisters: Doris Blackston and Barbara Dill.

Lewis was a member of Tateville Baptist Church in Tateville, KY. He was a retired Machinist at National Cash Register in Dayton.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00AM Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Craig Showalter officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the funeral home prior to service. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association: 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
