Heaven gained another angel Wednesday, May 17, 2017 when Mary M. Poling, age 88 of Troy, passed away at Troy Care Center. She was born January 14, 1929 in Troy to the late Everett and Velva (Waugh) Smith.

Mary is survived daughter Cyndi Bertholomey of Troy, grandchildren, Jordan Aleece of Troy and Logan and companion Jenna Hall of Scottsdale, AZ, great-granddaughter Mackenzie Elizabeth, sister Mildred Beckstedt of Piqua, and brother and sister-in-law Willard Dale and Pat Smith of Pleasant Hill.

Mary married Donald R. Poling on January 8, 1949 and he preceded her in death on June 10, 2015. Also preceding her in death are three brothers, John Smith, Everett Eugene Smith, and Ivan Smith, along with sister Arbutus Reser.

She was a 1948 graduate of Lost Creek High School and a member of Union Baptist Church. Mary was a factory worker for 25 years at Ledex in Piqua. Mary loved gardening and motorcycle riding with her loving husband. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

A funeral service will be held 10:30AM Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Dale Adkins officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30AM-10:30AM at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will be in Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
