Mattie (Quillen) Greene

Mattie Quillen Greene, age 89 of New Carlisle, OH and formerly of Rogersville, TN, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 4, 2018. She was born August 14, 1928 in Hawkins Co. TN to the late William J. and Nancy A. (Roberts) Quillen.

Mattie is survived by her children Larry D. Greene of New Carlisle, OH, Linda G. Hoover (Harry) of Waco, KY, and Elizabeth “Libby” A. Paxton of Mason, OH; grandchildren Holli Hoover Hendrix, Allen C. Hoover, Hope Hoover Cain (Billy), Mitchell Greene (Jess), Thomas “T.J” Greene (Kylene), Brian Paxton (Nicki), and Adam Paxton; great-grandchildren Austin, Jordan, Faith, Hope, Summer, Hayden, Wyatt, Alissa, Cory, Zayne, Ethan, Grace, Malia, and Addison; sister Dinah M. Horn (Henry) of Lancaster, PA; special friend Kim Roberts of Wauchula, FL; extra special friend Brute; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Willard Greene on December 5, 1997; brothers Carry A. Quillen, William J. Quillen, Jr., and Jesse Murrell Quillen; and sisters Nell Lee Rogers, Hazel Ruth Milner, Annie Kerr Matthews, and Margaret Clarice Quillen.

Mattie was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star Hasson Chapter in Rogersville, TN.

A graveside service will be held 2:00PM Friday, March 9, 2018 at Highland Cemetery, Rogersville, TN. Visitation will be from 5:00PM-7:00PM on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy, OH with a service to follow by Rev. Harry C. Hoover. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery, Rogersville, TN. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy, OH.
