Richard F. Honeyman, age 88 of Troy, passed away Friday, October 27, 2017 at SpringMeade Health Center, Tipp City. He was born February 22, 1929 in Troy to the late John and Marie E. (Kline) Honeyman.
Richard is survived by son and daughter-in-law Brian and Julie Honeyman of Troy; daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Kevin Harry of Beavercreek; four grandchildren: Brock (Angie) Harry, Scott (Carrie) Harry, Alisha (Matt) Beam, and Niki (Doug) Drummond; two step grandchildren: Tiffany (Tom) Seibert and Tracy (Derick) Cruea; nine great-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
Richard married Catherine E. (Hartman) Honeyman on September 11, 1948 and she preceded him in death on March 29, 2005. He is also preceded in death by sister Martha Oakes.
Richard was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a 1947 graduate of West Milton High School and a former member of Nashville United Church of Christ. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a member of the Harley Owners Group. He was also a member of Troy Fish and Game Club. Richard retired from Hobart Corp. with over 30 years of service as an Expediter.
A funeral service will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Rev. David Ramming officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Wheelock Cemetery with Military Honors by the Veteran’s Memorial Honor Guard of Troy. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, P.O. Box 502, Troy, OH 45373. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
