Ruth Ann Laber, age 69, of Troy, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 7:25 p.m. at the Hospice Unit of Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.  Ruth Ann was born in Miami County on August 24, 1947, to John Wesley and Marie (Kinnison) Roetter who preceded her in death.

Ruth Ann married Curtis J. Laber and he survives.  She is also survived by one daughter, Beth A. Laber and friend Robert McCarroll of Union; one son and daughter-in-law, Joe W. and Nicole A. Laber of Troy; two grandsons, Jordan and Courtney Guillozet; Jason and Kassie Guillozet; one great-grandson, Owen Guillozet; one brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Vicky Roetter of Pleasant Hill; and one sister, Sue Mitchell of Covington, along with many nieces and nephews.

Ruth Ann was a graduate of Newton High School.  She was employed as a nurse’s aide at Stouder Memorial Hospital and later as a unit secretary at Upper Valley Medical Center.  She retired in 2007.  She was a member of the Troy Church of the Nazarene.  Ruth Ann enjoyed helping people, crafts, sewing, watching golf, and was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan.  She was a founding board member of SCARF of Shelby County. 

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy, with Pastor Jeff Rollison of Troy Church of the Nazarene officiating.  Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M.  Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.
