Stanley G. Gayle, age 87 of Troy, passed away Monday, February 27, 2017. He was born April 28, 1929 in Kingston, Jamaica to the late William and Susan (Newman) Gayle.

Stanley married Barbara V. (Humphrey) Gayle on May 25, 1968 and she survives in Troy.  He is also survived by daughter and son-in-law Nicole and Chuck May of Troy; son Leon Gayle of Troy; and five grandsons: Richard J. Mitchell, Christian M. May, Justice L. May, Joseph D. Gayle, and Devin G. Gayle. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Stanley worked as a Merchant Tailor in Jamaica until migrating to the United States in 1967, where he worked as a Tailor before owning Gayle’s Tailor Shop in Troy from 1975 until 2013. He was a member of Mid-County Church of Christ in Troy.

A funeral service will be held 12:00PM Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Mid-County Church of Christ, Troy with Minister Ralph Royse officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00AM-12:00PM at the church prior to service. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.
