Thomas R. (Tom) Ingle, Sr., age 85 of Covington, peacefully passed away August 31, 2017 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Piqua. He was born February 29, 1932 to the late Roscoe E. and Viola D. (Wintringham) Ingle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bruce E. Ingle; the children’s mother, Norma Jean Ingle; step daughter, Sharon Thompson Kemp; companion of 30 years, Rosadel Welbaum; and three siblings, Richard (Dick) Ingle, William (Bill) Ingle, and Carolyn Ingle Coulter.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Thom R. Ingle, Jr. and Robin (Pleasant Hill); son Gregg Ingle and Viola (Stockton, CA); daughter, Cindy A. Ingle Dills (Kingston Springs, TN); sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Jeff Schilling (Troy); first wife and longtime friend, Darlene Grissom (Troy); grandchildren, Jacob Ingle, Jonathan (Liza) Dills, Jessica Dills, Shannon Welsh, Adam (Jennifer) Ingle, Meredith (Ryan) Fiely, step grandchildren Robert Wells, Stephanie (Pete) Corona, James Robbins, and several great grandchildren.

Tom was very proud of his country. He retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of dedicated service including a term in Vietnam. He was a member of Troy Eagles #971 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4235, Covington.

To honor Tom and follow his wishes, no services will be held. Tom’s remains will be buried at the foot of his mother’s grave in Miami Memorial Park, Covington.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Brookdale Assisted Living in Piqua for the care, love, and respect they showed both Tom and the family over the last few years. Thanks is also given to Hospice of Miami County for their care. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
