William G. Osgood, age 50 of Troy, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 11, 1966 in Troy to the late Ralph and Martha (Ulrich) Osgood.

William married Tina (Ward) Osgood on April 27, 1991 and she survives in Troy. Other survivors include son Riley Osgood of Troy; two daughters: Nicole Kruse of Celina, and Shelby Osgood of Troy; five grandchildren: Ember Osgood, Cole Sandlin, Kammron Rupert, Taylor Rupert, and Hannah Rupert; close personal friend Jeremy Smith of Xenia; and sister and brother-in-law Linda and Douglas Lloyd of Troy.

He was preceded in death by brother Theodore Osgood.

William was a 1985 graduate of Troy High School and attended Edison State Community College for one year. He also attended the Institute of Police Technology and Management in Jacksonville, FL. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Troy, and enjoyed playing darts, sailing, and traveling with his family. William was a Miami County Deputy Sherriff for 15 years. He also worked for F&P America in Troy for five years, and for Holland Trucking in Dayton for four years.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2PM Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Dwayne Wilson officiating. Visitation will be from 1PM-2PM at the funeral home prior to the service. Contributions may be given to the family in his memory, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
