Clara Lois Adams

Clara Lois Adams, age 85 of Sidney, formerly of Troy, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Ohio Living Dorothy Love, Sidney. She was born March 8, 1933 in Troy to the late Clyde and Margaret (Peirce) Fessler.

Clara Lois is survived by her husband Donald R. Adams, whom she married on August 21, 1981; son Jim (Lois) Starry of Covington; daughter Jill (Rawleigh) Honchel of Harrodsburg, KY; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; three step-daughters: Barbara (David) Bowerson of Hilliard, Susan (Tim) Sharp of Binghamton, NY, and Cheryl Zimmerman of Troy; brother Nevin (Liz) Fessler of Troy; three sisters: Phyllis (Duane) Rapp of Covington, Ruth Walsh of Troy, and Wanda (Doug) Tremblay of Troy.

She was preceded in death by grandson John Starry; step-great-granddaughter Gracie Zimmerman; brother and sister-in-law Bruce and Shirley Fessler; brother-in-law Tom Walsh; and sister-in-law Anita Speakman; as well as nephew Tony Fessler.

Clara Lois was a 1951 graduate of Troy High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Troy where she taught Sunday School, Children’s Church, and Bible School. She was a Den Mother with the Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts and a 4H Advisor, PTA President, and Homeroom Mother with Concord Schools for many years. She was a retired clerk with Whirlpool in Dayton.

A funeral service will be held 1:00PM Friday, May 18, 2018 at First Baptist Church, Troy with Pastors Dale Christian and Doug Magin officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00PM-1:00PM at the church prior to the service. Interment to follow in Casstown Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
