George A. Rosset, age 83 of Stone Mountain, GA, formerly of Troy, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 at Pebblebrook Nursing Home in Stone Mountain, GA. He was born October 29, 1934 in Philadelphia, PA to the late George and Grace (Heister) Rosset.
George is survived by his wife Margaret (Packard) Rosset; son James A. (Sheri) Rosset of Zeeland, MI; two daughters: Penni Jean (Daniel) Caldwell of Troy and Sandra Lynn (Phillip) James of Ringgold, GA; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three stepdaughters: Lori Donaldson of Greenville, SC, Beth Pyskir of Naperville, IL, and Margaret Purcell of Lawrenceville, GA; brother David A. (Judy) Rosset of Des Moines, IA; and sister Lillian (Daniel) Schmitt of Lockport, NY.
He was preceded in death by wife E. Jean (Jeffries) Rosset on December 6, 2010; brother Robert Rosset; and sister Violette Wetherill.
George was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of Troy Baptist Temple and Berean Baptist Church in Lilburn, GA. He was a retired intelligence research specialist at WPAFB and had also previously worked for General Dynamics in Dayton.
A funeral service will be held 11:00AM Monday, July 2, 2018 at Troy Baptist Temple with Pastors Aaron Samples and David Thomasson officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the church prior to the service. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy, OH.
