Hattie Elizabeth Foston, age 95 of Troy, passed away Friday, February 23, 2018 at Koester Pavilion. She was born August 28, 1922 in Troy to the late Rev. Smith S. and Ida E. (Hall) Redmon.
Hattie is survived by her three daughters: Valli (Charles) Washington of Huber Heights, Ida Redmon of Beverly Hills, FL, and Myra (Jerry) Smith of Troy; 9 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and sister Mabel Vaughn of Dayton; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband William Foston; two sons: Vincent and Michael Redmon; great grandson Travian Kinnel; brother Rev. George Redmon; and four sisters: Mary Jones, Amanda Redmon, Julia Taylor, and Gladys Redmon.
Hattie was a member of the Zion Baptist Church, where she sang with the choir. She was also a member of the Improvement Club and the Culinary Committee.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30AM Friday, March 2, 2018 at the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, 1624 N. Co. Rd 25A, Troy, OH 45373 with Rev. Charles Carnes and Rev. Phillip Paschal officiating. Visitation will be 9:30AM-11:30AM at the church prior to the service. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy, OH.
