Roy “Jake” Staten, III

Roy “Jake” Staten, III, age 51 of Troy, passed away Monday, October 8, 2018. He was born August 17, 1967 in Troy to Roy Staten, Jr. of Troy and JoAnn (Pacheco) Staten Howard of Troy.

Along with his parents, Jake is survived by his son Roy K. Staten, IV of Troy; three daughters: Taylor Staten of Troy, Chelsea (Marc) Halcomb of Troy, and Samantha Staten of Troy; two grandsons: Colt Halcomb and Asher Halcomb; sister Jody Staten of Troy; two brothers: Geno Staten of Troy and Denver Staten (Deanna) of Piqua; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jake was a creative, intelligent spirit who enjoyed fishing, racing, and music. He was a gifted songwriter and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was also a very skilled carpenter by trade.

A Celebration of Life will take place 1:00PM Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Gary Wagner officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00AM-1:00PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
