Watson McCoy

Watson McCoy, age 71 of Troy, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018 in the Hospice Unit of Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born May 5, 1947 in Dundee, MS to the late James Watson and Christine (Lotts) McCoy.

Watson is survived by his four children: Tony McCoy of Troy, Derrick McCoy of Troy, Jason (Missy) Svajda of Troy, and Pisce McCoy of Columbus; two grandchildren Darius McCoy and Chloe Partin; six brothers: William (Cindy) McCoy of Jacksonville, FL, Terry (Amy) McCoy of Piqua, Keith (Jennifer) McCoy, Sr. of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Wesley (Jewell) McCoy of Troy, Tommy (Mary) McCoy of Ft. Worth, TX, and Sammy McCoy of Peekskill, NY; four sisters: Gloria (Michael) Coyle of Noblesville, IN, Annie (Murphy) Frazier of Troy, Kelly McCoy of Troy, and Deborah McCoy of Troy; stepbrother Tony (Cynthia) Jones of Malden, MO; and three stepsisters: Margaret (Moses) Collier of Clarkton, MO, Brenda (Joe) Harris of Malden, MO, and Linda (Clarence) Porter of Chesapeake, VA.

He was preceded in death by three brothers: Charles, James, and Robert; as well as sister Velma Kinnell.

Watson was a US Marine Corp. veteran of the Vietnam War. He was self-employed in the lawncare business as well as a mechanic for several years.

A Celebration of Life will be held 10:30AM Friday, May 25, 2018 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with his brother, Pastor William McCoy officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30AM-10:30AM at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy with military honors by the Veteran’s Memorial Honor Guard of Troy.
