Amy Lynn Chavis-Okoye, age 50 of Troy, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025 at her residence. She was born November 16, 1974 in Troy to the late Daryl Chavis and Stephanie Quisenberry.

Those left to cherish Amy's memory include her daughters Deonna Alexander of Milwaukee, WI and Stephanie Chavis of Orange Park, FL; sons Kurtis Johnson of Houston, TX and Kerrington (Dinah) Bigsby of Dyess Air Force Base, TX; sisters Melissa Chavis of San Ramon, CA and Donna Chavis of Troy; brothers Dominic Hughes of Decatur, IL, Doug (Alycia) Chavis of Cameron Park, CA, and Derek Chavis of Sidney; grandchildren Kerrinah Elaine Bigsby, Santana Dale Paul Bigsby, and Ariyan Lee McKinnon. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and best friends Debra McCoy and Tiffany Hudgins who will miss her dearly.

Amy was a creative spirit who took solace in painting and scrapbooking. In her downtime she loved a good movie and watching TV.

A memorial service will be held 12:00PM Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at St. James Community Church, Troy with Pastor Vickie Evans officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00AM-12:00PM at the church prior to the service. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
