Anita Sue Speakman, 71, of Troy, went to be with the Lord at 4:10 a.m. on Monday, March 24, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Troy on August 11, 1942 to the late Orville and Joyce (Black) Adams. She was married to Robert "Bob" Speakman on June 11, 1960, and he survives.

Anita is also survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Ronald Speakman and special friend, Lori Roux, both of Troy, Jeffrey and Lyvonne Speakman of Piqua; one daughter and son-in-law, Shelley and Mike Pritchard of Bradford; two grandchildren, Jeremy and Nikki Speakman of Huber Heights, and Breann Taylor of Troy; four step grandchildren, Jon Meyer, Jason Pritchard, Jeni Meyer, and Landin Pritchard; two great grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mary Speakman-Mullins and Husband, Jim; one brother, Don and Claralois Adams of Troy; one sister, June D'Andrea of Columbus.

Anita graduated from Miami East High School in 1960 and was Homecoming Queen. Anita was a stay at home mom for 14 years. She then worked at Sears as Human Resource Manager for 25 years. She retired from Sears in 2002. She loved her animals especially Cody, Pookie, and Mattie.

A funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2014 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Dale Christian officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home prior to the service. Contributions may be given to Hospice of Miami County, P.O. Box 502, Troy, Ohio 45373, or to Miami County Humane Society, 1190 North County Road 25A, Troy, Ohio 45373, in her memory.
