Arthur William “Bill” Smith, Jr., age 70 of Tipp City, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, Troy. He was born June 22, 1955 in Muncie, IN to the late Arthur William Smith, Sr. and Lois Stanley Branham.

Along with his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his twin brother Cary Gene Smith, Sr. on January 21, 2009.

Those left to cherish Arthur’s memory include his children Ellisha Barmore (husband Adam), Tara Smith, Autumns Smith, and Arthur Smith, III; sisters Barbara Boetjer and Grace Jones (husband Raymond); as well as several grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Arthur was a US Army veteran. He served as a volunteer fireman and first responder for the Kingsford Heights, IN fire department in the 90’s. He was a man of God with a creative and giving spirit. He enjoyed working on cars and would always lend a helping hand to those in need. Arthur touched the lives of everyone he knew and never met a stranger. He cherished the time he got to spend with his family and his loved ones and will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

The family wishes to thank the staff and friends and all the volunteers at Otterbein in Tipp City and also Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County.

A celebration of life will be held 1:00PM Monday, January 5, 2026 at Troy Baptist Church with Pastor David Thomasson officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
