Barbara Kay Bennett, age 85 of Troy, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, Troy. She was born March 14, 1941 in Troy to the late Roy and Dorothy (Persinger) Clark.

Along with her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by husbands Bill Bennett in 2011 and Donald Shade in 1974; as well as her sisters Ginger Smith and Mildred Preston.

Those left to cherish Barbara’s memory include her sons Donald Shade (Missy) of Troy and Scott Shade (Rhonda) of Piqua; daughters Kim Boggs (Dave) of London, OH and Kelly Shade of Troy; stepdaughter Cheryl Clutter (Steve) of Medway; sisters Marlene Short of Troy, Carol Wills of Troy, and Nancy Preston of Bradford. 0; brothers Russell Clark of Fletcher, Dick Clark of Piqua, Roger Clark of Arizona, Raymond Clark of Bradford, Rocky Clark of West Virginia, and Randy Clark of Troy; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Barbara retired from Miami Industries after 30 years of dedicated service. She was a member of American Legion Post 43 Auxiliary in Troy, VFW Post 5436 Auxiliary, Troy, and AmVets Post 88 Auxiliary, Troy.

A funeral service will be held 12:00PM Thursday, October 8, 2026 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Michael Calhoun officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00AM-12:00PM prior to the service. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery, Covington. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
