Barbara Lynn Charles, age 73 of Troy, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Vancrest Nursing Home in New Carlisle, OH. She was born March 27, 1950, in Hazard, KY to the late Maurice and Ollie (Cornett) Hupp.

In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Charles, her brother, Paul Hupp and sister, Joyce Feltner.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Lilly Mae and Charles Richmond of Troy, John (Robert) Charles, Jr of Dayton, James Charles of Englewood as well as her grandchildren, Jessica Charles and Cheyenne Charles and great grandchildren Emily Elizabeth and Eli. Also, her sister Carolyn Spencer of Troy, Mark (Kim) Hupp of OH, and brother-in-law J. R. Feltner of Troy.

Barbara graduated from Troy High School and retired as an office worker at Smith Industries in Vandalia, OH. She loved genealogy, was an avid reader who read a book a day, and enjoyed spending time with her family.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 24, 2023 at Fisher Cheney Funeral Home with Elder Clarence Stafford officiating. The visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Troy, OH.
