Daniel William Moore, Sr. age 78 of Okeechobee, FL and formerly of Casstown, passed away Friday, January 2, 2026 at his residence. He was born March 21, 1947 in Jamestown, NY to the late William R. Moore and Bessie (Foster) Moore.

Daniel was preceded in death by his wife Sandra K. Moore, daughter Melenda Goldberg, brother Randel R. Moore, and stepsons Jeffrey Dale Smith, Chuck Smith, and Timothy Helig.

Those left to cherish Daniel’s memory include his wife Joyce (Gheen) Moore, son Daniel Moore, Jr. (Michelle) of Troy, stepson James Scott (Kimberly) of Troy, six grandchildren, and sister Laurie Plemons (Bill) of Dunnellon, FL.

Daniel was a US Air Force veteran, having served during the Vietnam era. He was a 1965 graduate of Northmont High School and attended both Sinclair Community College and the University of Maryland. He was the retired owner of D&J Associates in Casstown for many years. He was a life member of AmVets Post 88 in Troy and a life member of the Troy Fish and Game Club.

A funeral service will be held 12:00PM Monday, January 12, 2026 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy, OH with Pastor Michael Calhoun officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00AM-12:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, OH with an honor guard service by the Veteran’s Memorial Honor Guard of Troy. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
