Darcel Arlene Short, age 68 of Troy, passed away 3:34PM Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, Troy. She was born November 19, 1957 in Troy to Charles “Chuck” Ingle and Sandra (Bucklew) Ingle.

Darcel was preceded in death by her mother, Sandra Ingle on March 30, 2003.

Those left to cherish Darcel’s memory include her husband Ronald “Ron” Short, Jr.; son Ronald Short, III (wife Molly) of Troy; father Charles “Chuck” Ingle of Troy; brother Douglas Ingle (wife Brenda) of Troy, and sister DeAnne Shindle of Lima; as well as her cherished granddaughters Lilly-Ann and Ronni, and mother-in-law Marlene Short of Troy.

Darcel was a 1976 graduate of Troy High School and retired from RT Industries where she worked for many years as a bus driver. Darcel had two passions in life- her loving family and cooking. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and nana, and she spoiled them with her cooking. She put love into anything she made, from desserts to lasagna. She will be missed dearly by them all.

A graveside service will be held at a later date in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
