Darla E. Harger, 57, of Troy, died on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.  She was born March 7, 1967, in Troy, Ohio, to Jason DeWitt and June Constance (Carnes) Harger.  She attended Troy public schools and graduated from Troy High School and Urbana University.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lori and Robyn; and two brothers, Doug and Mark.

Darla is survived by six brothers and six sisters – Candace, Rhonda, Angela, Thomas, Jonathan, Phillip (Marites) and Leah Harger and Lydia (Julio) Harger Herrera all of Troy, Ohio; Tamala Black of Trotwood, Ohio; Matthew Harger of Lebanon, Ohio; Andrew Harger of Atlanta, Georgia; and Paul Timothy (Clarissa) Harger of Grand Prairie, Texas.  She is also survived by three nephews and one niece, Samuel Herrera of Troy, Ohio; and Kristopher Lavalais, Abraham Harger, and Sofia Harger of Grand Prairie, Texas; one aunt, Mary Joan Harger of Sidney, Ohio; and a host of cousins.

Darla enjoyed playing the piano and writing poetry.  She was a truly special person.  She always knew how to make us smile.  Her kindness and generosity touched everyone who knew her, especially her niece and nephews.  We will always cherish the memories we shared, the laughter, and the wisdom she passed on.  Her cheerful spirit will live on in our hearts, and she will be deeply missed.

Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Ohio.  Per Darla's wishes there will be no visitation and no services.  Arrangements are entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
