David D. Carr, age 80, of Troy passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020 at Kettering Medical Center in Dayton, OH. He was born in Stuttgart, AR on May 18, 1940 to the late Drayton and Erma (McGee) Carr.

David is survived by his wife Constance J (Vaughn) Carr, his son, Tom (Tegan) Carr of Silver Spring, MD; grandchildren, Kelsey and Griffin Carr; sisters, Marilyn Taylor of Blacklick, OH and Barbara Ann McClondon of Troy, OH; and brothers, Richard (Carrie) Carr of Huber Heights, OH, James Carr of Dayton, OH and Marc Carr of Houston, TX.

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his siblings, Ocie B. Stephens, Naomi Carr, Ruth Mae Ferguson, Geraldine Gill, Moses Carr, and Samuel Drayton Carr.

David was a proud veteran of the United States Army. David retired from working at BF Goodrich in Troy after many years of employment. He was active in the Troy community and belonged to the Amvets Post 88, VFW Post #5436, Veterans Memorial Honor Guard, and American Legion Post #43 all of Troy. He loved his family and spending time with them, he also had a passion for gardening and golf.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy. A visitation will be held from 10 AM-11 AM. A Military Honor Guard Service by the Veteran's Memorial Honor Guard of Troy will be held at the funeral home. A dinner will follow the service at American Legion, 622 S. Market St., Troy, OH 45373. The family asks that anyone wanting to show their love for David, make a donation to the Lincoln Community Center in his honor.
