David Scott Libert, 63, of Troy, went home to be with the Lord, at 4:00 A.M., on Wednesday, January 1, 2014. He passed at home with his beloved Patti, and Hospice of Miami County by his side. He was born in Massillon, Ohio on March 2, 1950 to Julia Ondo Libert and the late Arthur J. Libert. He was preceded in death by his Father, Arthur Libert of Lima, Ohio. His Mother Julia Libert, survives and resides in Lima, Ohio. On March 6, 1999, David married Patti Reed of Lima, who survives in Troy.

David is also survived by a Son, David Ty Libert of Wapakoneta; two Brothers; Arthur of Columbus, and James of Lima; a Step-Daughter, Angela Douglas of Wapakoneta and a Step-Son, Jeremy Cochensparger of Georgia.

He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Post 96, of Lima, where he served as an active volunteer for several fundraisers and benefits. He was also a member of the Troy VFW Post #5436, as well as the Troy Fish and Game Association.

A celebration of David's life will be observed 3:00 P.M. Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor John Shelton officiating.
