Dennis L. Skaggs, 47, of Troy, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Sycamore Hospital in Miamisburg, Ohio. He was born in Troy on August 6, 1967 to the late Russell Skaggs and Louverna (Duncan) Skaggs, who survives.

Dennis is also survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Ashley Skaggs of Covington; Keith Skaggs and friend Megan Blair of Troy; and special friend Angela Loring-Keyes of Troy; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Steven Massey of Piqua; Phyllis and David Matheny of Casstown; one brother and sister-in-law Russell and Dorothy Skaggs of Greenville; six grandchildren, Stephie, Ashton, Henry, Christian, Dallas, and Summer.  Dennis was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Skaggs and 1 grandchild, Amberlee.

Dennis was a member of the Baptist faith, Amvets Post 88, Troy Eagles 971, and Miami County Moose Lodge all of Troy.   He was a self-employed construction contractor.  He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Revs. Bobby Jenkins and J.B. Powers officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown.  Contributions in his memory may be made to the family.
