Obituary

Derrec Allen Webster, age 45, departed this life on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at his home in Piqua, OH. He was born in Troy, OH to Kim (Webster) Barnett on April 5, 1979.

Derrec enjoyed golfing, video games, magic games, football, dancing, music, cooking, BBQing, socializing with family and friends, fishing, riding bikes, singing and loved to draw.

He attended Troy High School, graduating in 1997. He then went on to further his education by attending Edison State College, graduating in 2014 with an associate's degree in CAD engineering.

Derrec worked for several years at Chipotle Restaurant where he was an apprentice seeking to become a store manager. He was currently employed by Hartzell Air Movement and Wood as a material handler for approximately 10 years.

Those proceeding his death were grandfather, James Ford, great grandparents, George and Juanita Webster, and cousin Lance Ford.

He leaves to cherish his memories his mother and father Kim and Alando Barnett of Troy, OH; god-parents Robert and Karan Bunch of Troy, OH; Bobby Dunbar of Lima, OH; four sisters, Erica Dunbar, Troy OH, Laquita Petty, West Carrollton, OH, Chelsie Merkle, Lima, OH, and Jamie Harrison, Troy, OH; two brothers Deon'ta Dunbar, Piqua, OH, and Travell "Pumpkin" Rowe, Lima, OH; two sons, Korey Wallace, Dayton, OH, Kamryn Webster, Dayton, OH; mother of his sons, Tamisha Wallace, Dayton, OH; Fiancé Holly Travis, Piqua, OH; daughters McKayla Travis, Mallary Travis and Madelyn Travis. Piqua, OH; grandson, Lennox Feltner, Piqua, OH; Nana Joyce Ford, Troy, OH; grandmother, Terrilyn Wallace-Jet, Richmond, IN; special aunts, Jill Ford, Columbus, OH and Sonia Holycross, Troy, OH; two uncles, James "Jimmy" Ford, Peace Dale, RI, and Mark Ford, Piqua OH; special cousins, Brian Ford, San Antonio, TX, Anthony Ford, Troy, OH, and Javon Jones, Taunton, MA, Chreshonn Otero, Piqua, OH; special friends Justin Althey and Mbwana "Hashim" Jordan; and a long host of family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy. Family and friends will celebrate Derrec's life on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 10:30 am – 11:00 am followed by a Homegoing Service beginning at 11:00 am, officiated by Pastor Vickie L. Evans at St. James Community Church, 702 Sherman Avenue, Troy, OH.

Following the service, family and friends are invited to a Repast at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 225 N, Elm St., Troy, OH.

In lieu of flowers, a donation toward a memorial bench to be placed at Miami Shores Golf Club, Troy, is welcomed by the family. Anyone who knew Derrec knew that golf was a passion of his, and Miami Shores Golf Course was a particularly meaningful course for him.
