Derrick Marcus Kinnel, 33, of Troy, passed away at 2:34 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2014 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.  He was born in Troy on May 8, 1981 to the late Booker T. Jones, Jr. and Charlene Kinnel of Piqua.

Derrick is survived by one son, Dominic Marsellus Kinnel of Dayton and his mother Brandy Ballard; one sister, Sabrina Kinnel of Dayton; one brother, Lashon Kinnel  of Hinesville, Georgia; and his grandmother, Freddie Mae McFadden of Piqua.

He was a member of the Baptist faith.

Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 4 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy, with Pastor Vickie Evans officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
