Donald A. (Don) Higgins, 70, of Troy passed away at 10:39 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the Hospice Unit at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.  He was born October 21, 1944 in Dayton, Ohio to the late John and Clare (Howard) Higgins.  Don was married February 27, 1965 to Judith (Judy) Harrod and she survives.

He is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Cindy and Brian Worley of Kettering; Sheryl and Andy Maynard of Lebanon; one sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Paul Laughman of Pleasant Hill; four brothers and sisters-in-law Mike and Joan Higgins of Troy; Jim Higgins and Sherri Colby of Troy; Jerry and Phyl Higgins of Troy; Fred and Irene Higgins of Arcanum; and four grandchildren, Ryan Lacey of Troy, Evan and Austin Maynard of Lebanon, and Ashleigh Worley of Kettering.

Don was a 1962 graduate of Troy High School and earned his mechanical engineering degree from Sinclair Community College.  He was the owner of the former Shurweld of Troy for 16 years and was retired.  Don was a former member of Troy Fish and Game.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Chaplain John Shelton officiating.  Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, September 27 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Casstown Cemetery.
