Donald R. McCaslin, 89, of Troy, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the home of his daughter, Elisebeth Sullivan, in Venus, FL. He was born in Sciotoville, Ohio on February 5, 1924 to the late Roy and Eliza (Spriggs) McCaslin. He was married to the late Bessie Frances McCaslin who passed away in 2007.

Donald is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Elisebeth and Francis "Bo" Sullivan, II of Venus, FL; two grandchildren, Charla and Jason Barton of Venus, FL, Heather and Chris Miller of Port St. Lucie, FL.; six great grandchildren; he is also survived by three step-children, Robert and Lanae Linkous of Huber Heights, Claudia and Steve Marcum of Sardinia, and Danny Linkous of Clayton. He was also preceded in death by one son, Don, Jr.; one step-son, Keith Linkous; three brothers, Carl, Richard, and Gary; and two sisters, Helen and Geneva.

Donald attended Alcony Grace Church in Alcony. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He was past Master and 55 year member of Franklin Lodge # 14 F&AM in Troy, and a member of; Knight York Cross of Honor, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, Troy Chapter # 42 O.E.S., Staunton Grange and also a Kentucky Colonel. He was retired from B. F. Goodrich, Troy after several years of service.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 6, 2014 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Robert Linkous officiating. Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the funeral home with a Masonic service to follow. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Donations may be given to the Bessie McCaslin Food Pantry at Alcony Grace Church in his memory.
