Donna F. Thornton, age 74 of Troy, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at Kettering Health Center.  She was born May 12, 1944 in Troy to the late Verne Elmer and Dora Thelma (Denney) Tucker.

Donna is survived by one son, William L. Thornton, Jr. of Troy; two brothers, Rex Tucker, Sr. of Tipp City and Melvin Franklin Tucker and his significant other, Linda K. Stapleton of Troy; one sister, Carolyn Tucker McCall of Troy; six grandchildren, James W. Boggs, Michael P. Boggs, Nathan D. Schatz, Joshua R. Thornton, Matthew T. Thornton, and Ryan J. Forbey; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Donna was preceded in death by her former husband William L. Thornton, Sr.; one daughter, Carla Forbey; and three brothers, James, Verne (Pete), and Bill Tucker.

Donna was a nurse who retired after 30 years of service from Stouder Memorial Hospital.  She enjoyed fishing, dancing, crossword puzzles, and computer games.  She was a member of Troy Eagles Auxiliary #971 and a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 43 and Pocahontas Lodge in Troy.

A funeral service will be held at noon Friday, March 15, 2019 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Rev. David Thomasson officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will follow in Casstown Cemetery.
