Obituary

Doris Jean Eichler, age 94 of Troy, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022 at Randall Residence in Troy. She was born May 12, 1927 in Dugger, IN to the late Rollie and Flossie (McPherson) Eslinger.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dale A. Eichler on April 18, 2004; son Timothy Eichler in 2003; as well as nine siblings.

Those left to cherish Doris's memory include her daughters Linda Eichler of Arlington, MA and Vicki Eichler of Dover, NH; son Mark Eichler (Kimberly) of Piqua; six grandchildren: Ben Eichler (Laura), Matt Eichler, Gael Eichler (Amielle), Mali Taylor (Justin), Sara Staley (Derek), and Christopher Eichler; 12 great-grandchildren: Lance, Seth, Evie, Savannah, Autumn, Brenna, Philip, Lena, August, Miles, Luke, and Sam.

Doris was a member of First Lutheran Church in Troy. She was a retired LPN and worked for many years at the former Dettmer Hospital and Stouder Hospital, Troy. She enjoyed sewing and making quilts and even refurbished furniture in her spare time. She loved gardening and baking as well.

A funeral service will be held 11:30AM Monday, April 4, 2022 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Rev. David Ramming officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30AM-11:30AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.fisher-cheneyfuneralhome.com.
