Doris Anne Hislop, age 93 of Troy, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Koester Pavilion, Troy. She was born March 25, 1929 in Troy to the late Daniel C. and Mary (Houston) McMath.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. Hislop; her brothers Daniel C. (Libby) McMath, Jr., Robert McMath and Kenneth (Avonelle) McMath; her sisters Helen Strauch, Mildred McMath and Alice McMath.

Those left to cherish Doris's memory include her nieces, Tonya (Bruce) Peterson of Phoenix, AZ and Heidi McMath of Chicago, IL, as well as Tommy's surviving family in Scotland.

For many years, Doris and her beloved husband Tommy lived back and forth in his birth country of Scotland, which Doris quickly adopted as her own, and the United States.  During their many years in Scotland, they enjoyed traveling and photographing the Scottish landscape.  When Doris returned to the States after Tommy's death, she explored the Piqua and Troy areas, particularly walking the canals of the area.

Doris and Tommy loved and cared for many family dogs.  Doris also adopted rescue dogs, including Nellie, the pet of a friend who had passed.

Doris was a longtime member and former deacon of First Presbyterian Church in Troy.

Doris worked as a secretary for many years both in the United States and Scotland, eventually retiring from Shepherd & Wedderburn law firm in Edinburgh.
