After 69 fun-loving years on this Earth, Doris Jean Miller passed away peacefully on December 13, 2021 at her residence- her happy place in Nancy, KY.

Doris was born August 16, 1952 in Hazard, KY to Elmer and Sarah Miller. After moving to Troy in 1954, Doris began her education in the Troy Schools and was a graduate of the class of 1970 at Troy High School. She co-oped her senior year for the City of Troy's utility company. She later moved to Piqua where she went to work for General Motors and raised her three children.

Doris lived life to the fullest and loved her family. She also had many passions such as cooking, gardening, sewing, and canning, just to name a few. But her true passion was boating with her family and friends on Lake Cumberland where she was the Captain of her boat. She later made Lake Cumberland her home where family and friends were always welcome and she enjoyed showing them a good time.

Doris was a loving mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was preceded in death by her son Kenneth Lee Apple and parents Elmer and Sarah Miller.

She is survived by her two daughters Tanya Apple of Springfield and Heather Ganger of Nancy, KY; two sisters Debbie Decker of Springfield and Darla Minton of West Carrolton; five grandchildren: Kenna, Dorian, Tobin, Dramin, and Jaydin; three great-grandchildren: Elias, Waylon, and Willow; and five nephews.

Friends and family may pay final respects to Doris from 5:00PM-6:00PM Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Somerset Undertaking 113 N Main St, Somerset, KY 42501 with a service to follow at 6:00PM.
