Dorothy A. Medley, age 101 of Troy, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 in the Hospice Unit of Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. She was born August 25, 1916 in Van Wert Co. to the late Walter C. and M. Margaret (Roberts) Haines.

Dorothy is survived by her son Robert E. Medley of Troy along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest J. Medley on December 20, 1992, as well as sisters Doris Burt and Frances Dunlap, and brothers Kenneth Haines and Dr. Donald C. Haines, DVM.

Dorothy was a retired public-school teacher from Troy City Schools, where she was employed for 10 years. She was a member of Troy Presbyterian Church and the Ohio State Retired Teachers Association, as well as the AAUW in Troy. Dorothy graduated from Ridge Centralized High School in Van Wert Co. and received her Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics from the Ohio State University in 1939.

A funeral service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Rev. Hart Edmonds officiating. Visitation will be 1:00PM-2:00PM at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy, OH.
