Dorthalee Nishwitz, age 99 of Piqua, passed away 4:10PM Monday, November 18, 2024 at Ohio's Hospice of Miami County inpatient facility. She was born November 14, 1925 in Dayton to the late Harold Victor Hunt Sr. and Lela Marie (Morris) Hunt.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elwood Nishwitz, who passed away in November 2000, as well as daughter Janice "Corky" Buecker, and siblings Harold V. Hunt, Jr., Dean Hunt, Madeline Wright, Lucille Sando, Geraldine Brown, Donnabelle Cavender, and Leetta Roemish.

Those left to cherish Dorthalee's memory include her daughter Judith "Judy" (Thomas) Bruner of Troy, as well as grandchildren: Todd Bruner, Trudy (Galen) Stump, Eric (Michelle) Buecker, and Scott (Jill) Buecker, 9 great grandchildren: Logan and Ben Stump, Trent, Tyler, and Taylor Bruner, Brooke, Nathan, and Jacob Buecker, and Abbygail Berger; and two great great grandchildren: Rowan Elizabeth Buchanan and Arlo Montgomery Bruner.

Dorthalee attended St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Piqua and worked the cosmetic counter at Uhlman's for many years.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Hospice of Miami County for their exceptional care and compassion.

A funeral service will be held 1:30PM Monday, November 25, 2024 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Rev. Dr. Keith Gebhart officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00PM-1:30PM at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Ohio's Hospice of Miami County, 3230 N. Co. Rd. 25A, Troy, OH 45373.Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
