Edward Cichy, age 70 of Troy, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024. He was born July 10, 1954 in Toledo, OH to the late Marion and Marie Louise (Paszek) Cichy.

Along with his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his sister Ann Marie Elliott.

Those left to cherish Edward's memory include his wife Jane (Foraker) Cichy, daughter Tamara Ann (Chris) Ingram of Germany, grandchildren Ayla and Collin, as well as sister Antoinette (James) Stoma of Waterville, OH and brother Leo Cichy of Temperance, MI.

Edward was a career serviceman and a highly decorated US Air Force veteran, having served for 27 years. While in the military, Edward received his master's degree in criminal justice from Troy State University in Alabama. He was a security police specialist with a top-secret military clearance during his military career. Upon retirement, he was a program management specialist with a GS13 rating where he designed top secret alarm systems for the military. He was passionate about military history and proud of his years spent in the service. He was a member of American Legion Post #43, Troy. He loved Sherlock Holmes mysteries and collected memorabilia from every story he'd read. Edward also had a love for all animals, especially his two cats Minnie-Me and Missy. He was always a character who knew how to make people laugh.

A celebration of life will be held from 3-5PM on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the American Legion Post #43, Troy. A private interment will take place on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Dayton National Cemetery.
