Edward Lee "Buck" Cox, 81, of Troy, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Troy Care. He was born in Darke County, Ohio on August 2, 1932 to the late Wilbur and Hattie (Saunders) Cox, Sr. He was married on April 28, 1954 to Beverly Anne Hammond, and she survives.

Buck is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Carla and Ted Mercer of Troy, Amy and Kyle Voris of Cornelius, N. C.; one son, Edward Dan Cox of Greenville, S.C.; four grandchildren, Emily (Ryan) Campbell, Troy (Mallory) Mercer, Edward Daniel "Danny" Cox, Jr., Dylan Cox; one step grandson, Landon Voris; one great grandson, Trenton Mercer; two sisters and brother-in-law, Margaret and Gene McClannan of Piqua, and Wanda Long of Piqua. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Wilbur Cox.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Troy. He was a 1951 graduate of Piqua Central High School and was inducted into the Piqua Athletic Hall of Fame. He was a 1959 graduate of Ohio University. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Hobart Corp. in Troy and the City of Troy as Treasurer from March of 1998 through December of 2013. He was a member of the Troy Kiwanis Club since 1969 and had served as Treasurer; and was also a member of the Hobart Quarter Century Club.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2014 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Rev. Dr. Richard Culp officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will be in Miami Memorial Park, Covington with a Military graveside service performed by the Veteran Memorial Honor Guard of Troy.
