Elisha Cooper, Jr., age 72 of West Milton, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati. He was born August 11, 1953 in Alabama to the late Elisha Cooper Sr. and Barbara (Stanley) Cooper.

Along with his parents, Elisha was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Cooper.

Those left to cherish Elisha’s memory include his wife Judy (Stafford) Cooper, whom he married March 16, 1973; his sons Josh Cooper (Kelly) of Ludlow Falls and Elisha Cooper, III (Kristina) of Ludlow Falls; daughter Maggie Mason (Brian) of Roscommon, MI; grandchildren Darion Dodson, Emma Shellenberger, Lunden Mason, and Ellie Cooper; great grandson Noah Dodson; brother Nelson Cooper of West Milton; and sisters Bertha Johnson (Bobby) of Englewood, Florence Rifenberg of Leesburg, FL, and Richie Ann Giampetro of Sebastian, FL.

Elisha was co-owner of Cooper’s Sanitation with his brother, Nelson and was the founder of Cooper’s Blacktop, which he ran with his two sons, Josh and Elisha, III. He also founded the catering business Cooper’s Farm in Ludlow Falls with his wife, Judy. In his spare time, Elisha enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. He was also a skilled dancer. He was a proud member of the West Milton Masonic Lodge and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason of the Valley of Dayton. Elisha’s giving nature prompted him and his wife Judy to host numerous Democratic Party fundraisers in Miami County over the years. He was dedicated to the Miami County community and raised money for various charities and hosted an annual Christmas party for the local foster children. Elisha’s biggest achievement was being a papa, and he cherished the time he spent with his family.

A funeral service will be held 12:00PM Friday, December 19, 2025 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy. Visitation will be from 3:00PM-6:00PM on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the funeral service at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
