Erma Kay Benton, age 68, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, July 20, 2025. She was born on January 30, 1957, in Dayton, OH to George and Betty (Cummings) Hicks.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Betty Hicks and her daughter, Amber Goonan.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her husband of 40 years, Quintlin Benton, her children; Natasha (Greg) Moden of Carlisle, OH, Kristina (Christopher) Wright of Mountain View, MO, Ashlee Benton of Troy and Angela Benton of Tipp City; her sisters; Angela Hicks of Troy, Georgia (Ray) Stager of Marion, IL, Shonda (David) Jackson of Jacksonville, FL, Wava (Frank) Young of Sidney and Lenna (Rick) Boggs of Sidney; her niece, Brittany Hicks of Troy; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Erma graduated in 1975 from Tipp City High School and also attended Sinclair University and Ohio State University. She worked as a respiratory therapist and retired from Miami Valley Hospital.

Erma was an active member of Open Arms Church, Tipp City, working on missions, constantly giving of her time, loved her church family and was an encourager. She passed peacefully knowing she is in the arms of her Lord.

Her funeral service will be held at 12pm on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Open Arms Church, Tipp City, with Pastor Robert Bell officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-12:00pm, prior to the funeral. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City, OH.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations toward her funeral, directed to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home.
