Estill Ray Osborne, age 88 of Troy, passed away 2:28AM Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. He was born June 20, 1938 in Load, KY to the late Alvin and Ruth (Logan) Osborne.

Ray was preceded in death by his wife Maxine (Stigall) Osborne on July 19, 2016. They were married 61 years. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter Brandy Odell and great granddaughter Aaliyah Garcia; as well as brother John Osborne and sisters Pauline Burton and Bessie Getter.

Ray’s memory will be cherished by his son Michael Osborne (Chauntel) of Troy; daughter Brenda Osborne of Mountain View, HI; grandchildren Caroline Rickels, Avery Osborne, Evan Osborne, Ryan Cooley, Cameron (Michaela) Black, and Cassandra Black; great grandchildren Jalen Odell and Bennett Ray Osborne; sister Connie Howerton of South Shore, KY; brother Raymond Eugene Osborne of Troy; as well as many other extended family and friends.

Ray retired from Dinner Bell Foods in Troy after over 30 years of dedicated service. He proudly and diligently worked until his passing for his lawn care service Osborne’s Lawn Care. Ray was affectionately known as the “Mayor of South Market Street” by his neighbors. He was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. An outdoorsman at heart, Ray was passionate about his garden and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He will be missed by his friends at the Troy Fish and Game, where he was a staple. When he wasn’t outside, Ray could be found in front of his TV watching cowboy westerns and old tv shows with his family. He cherished his family and time he could spend with them.

A funeral service will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Chaplain Robert Lewis officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00AM-11:00AM prior to the service. Family and friends are also welcome from 4:00PM-7:00PM on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at the funeral home for visitation.
