Franklin L. "Frank" Hutchinson, 70, of Pleasant Hill and formerly of Troy, passed away 1:37 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2013 at the home of his granddaughter in Pleasant Hill. He was born June 18, 1942 in Troy to the late Raymond B. and Mary K. (Brandenburg) Hutchinson. He was married on August 3, 1963 to Sandra K. Garbry, and she survives.
Frank is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Brenda Hutchinson of Troy; two granddaughters, Brandy (Jeremy) Schellhouse of Pleasant Hill, and Amanda Hutchinson of Troy; two brothers, Dale Hutchinson of Texas, and Raymond J. Hutchinson of Troy; and one sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Donald Harshbarger of Melbourne, FL. He was preceded in death by four brothers, John, William, Richard, and Robert Hutchinson; and one sister, Evelyn Hutchinson.
Frank was a 1961 graduate of Troy High School. He served in the Army during peacetime. He was a member of First United Church of Christ in Troy. He served on the Troy City Council as Fourth Ward Councilmember from January 1, 2004 to December 31, 2005 and as Councilmember-at-Large from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2011. He retired from Meijers as a meat cutter after 15 years of service. He is a member of Franklin Lodge #14 F&AM in Troy, was a former member of the Troy American Legion, was a former member of the Troy Fish & Game Club, and was a member of the Liberty Squares Dance Club from 1997 to 2002, and was a caller for them.
Funeral services will be held 5:00 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Lauren Allen officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. An Honor Guard Service by the Veterans Memorial Honor Guard of Troy to follow the funeral service at the funeral home.
