Gary Lynn Stewart, age 77 of Troy, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022 at his home. He was born on October 19, 1944 in Troy to the late Donald L. Stewart and Hilda I. (nee Sullivan) Stewart Carver.

In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his step-father, Charles C. Carver; brothers, Douglas, Richard and Charles "Chuck" Carver; and sister, Judy Thuma.

Those left to cherish Gary's memory include his loving wife, Kathryn "Kat" Stewart of Troy; daughter, Debbie (Ron) Cyktor of Stewartville, MN; good friend, Norma Jean Florkey of Troy, OH; sisters-in-law, Teresa Grise of Bradford, OH and Dinah Miller of Troy, OH; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gary was a Veteran of the United States Navy for 20+ years where he retired. He graduated from Miami East High School. He belonged to many clubs in Troy including, VFW #5436, Redmen Lodge #222, Haymakers #222 ½, Amvets Post #88, American Legion Post #43, Eagles #971 and was a member of the Troy Veteran's Memorial Honor Guard for many years. He enjoyed golfing, playing shuffleboard and playing cards.

A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Rev. David Ramming officiating. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at the funeral home with a Redmens Lodge service starting at 7PM. Interment will follow the funeral service on Friday at Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City, OH with a Military Honor Guard Service by the Veteran's Memorial Honor Guard of Troy.
