George Stanley Donaghy, age 95 of  Troy passed away at 5:30 P.M.  on Friday, August 7, 2015 at his residence. He was born March 15, 1920 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late John and Hazel (Gorby) Donaghy.

He married Pauline Lexie (Conley) Donaghy  in 1954 and she preceded him in death on March 10, 2009.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Steve and Kathy Donaghy of Troy, step-grandsons Nicholas Joseph (Cassie) Tatlock of Crothersville,IN., Jeffrey Dean Tatlock of  Crothersville,IN, step-great-grandchildren Joseph, Taylor, Jeffrey Ian, Hannah and Triston, and a sister Bertha Taylor of Columbus.

He was also preceded in death by sisters Mary Edna Clark and Naomi Ruth Harmon.

George served his country proudly in the Army Air Corp. during WW II, was a 1938  graduate of Martins Ferry High School  and retired in 1983 from WPAFB as an Aircraft Mechanic after 37 years of service.

He was a member of Michael L. Finnell # 711 F &AM Lodge of Fairborn, member of Freewill Baptist Church of Fairborn and former member of American Legion and VFW of Fairborn.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Rev. Anthony Conley officiating. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, New Carlisle with Military Honors  by Veteran's Memorial Honor Guard of Troy at graveside. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 at the funeral home.
