Obituary

George William Dryden, age 87 of Midlothian, TX passed away 10:00PM Thursday, April 24, 2025 at his daughter's home in Troy. He was born March 13, 1938 in Richmond, IN to the late William and Virgie (Phillips) Dryden.

George was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Dryden in January 2025; daughter Shellie Dryden in 2022 and son John Dryden in 2004; brothers Virgil, Elmer, and Sam Dryden; as well as sisters Ruth Ann Whited and Diane Dryden.

Those left to cherish George's memory include his daughter Joy Ross (David) of Troy; sons Larry Dryden (Christina) of Centerville and Terry Dryden of Greenville; grandchildren Sara (Kenneth), Amanda, Amber, Jacob (Mae), Sean, Keely, and Teresa (Eddie); great-grandchildren Aria, Brendon, Leo, Marleigh, Ty, and Abby; and daughter-in-law Cheryl Dryden of TX.

George was a US Air Force veteran and was stationed in Japan and Louisiana during his service. He attended the Cowboy Church of Midlothian, TX. George graduated from Richmond High School in 1956 before joining the Air Force. George and his wife participated in rodeo in their early years. Later, George coached girls' softball in New Madison. He retired with Dayton Press where he worked as a printer for over 20 years, as well as Tarrant Printing in Ft. Worth, TX for over 20 years.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
