Gerald Wayne Butcher, age 65 of Troy, passed away Friday, January 19, 2024, at Hospice of Miami County, Troy. He was born July 1, 1958, in Fort Worth, TX to Bettye (Barge) Butcher, TX and the late Napoleon Butcher.

He was also preceded in death by his sister Gwenda Butcher and his brother-in-law Scott Sullenberger.

Those left to cherish Gerald's memory include his wife Merenda (Sullenberger) Butcher, children; Kalen (Jasmine) Butcher, Cincinnati, Tony McCoy, Troy, Pisce McCoy, Texas, Derrick McCoy, Troy; grandchildren Darius and Chloe as well as grandson Angelo due to arrive soon; his siblings, Napoleon Butcher, Troy, Dennis (Jill) Butcher, Troy, Cindy Hayes, TX, Sherry Bolton, TX, Roderick Butcher, TX, and his special brother Stanley (Kelley) Butcher, Troy; his sisters-in-law, Lorie Mitchell, Troy and Ann (Tom) Snider, Covington; numerous nieces and nephews; his first wife, Patricia Shroyer, Piqua and his special friends AC, Johnnie, Bennie and Therrel.

Gerald graduated from Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth, TX and worked at Hobart and retired from Yaskawa Motoman as a supervisor of shipping and receiving. His hobbies included fishing, collecting comic books playing Spades and dominos, and spending time with his cat Macy and dog Scooter. He loved his Dallas Cowboys and never missed watching a game.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, January 25 at 5:00PM, at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy officiated by Elder Clarence Stafford. Visitation will be 3:00PM-5:00PM at the funeral home. Family and friends will gather at the Redmen Picnic Grounds, 2855 W. Stanfield Road, Troy at 6:30PM.
