Herman H. Horner, 74, of Troy, passed away 12:08 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Greenville on November 19, 1939 to the late Harry and Vertie (Bashore) Horner. He was married to Cora (Adams) Horner on March 21, 1980, and she survives.
Herman is also survived by one son, David Horner of the Virgin Islands; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Clark Wagner of Troy; one grandson, Jeremy Wagner and his companion, Heather Dunham, of Troy; one sister, Donna of Bradford; one sister-in-law, Edith Horner of Brookville. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Harold Dean Horner.
Herman was a 1957 graduate of Versailles High School. He was an US Army Veteran. He was retired from Hartzell Propeller of Piqua after more than 25 years of service.
A funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Jeff Seekins officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 8 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy with a Military service at graveside by the Veterans Memorial Honor Guard of Troy. Contributions may be given in his memory to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton 45420.
