Irene Helen Delauter (Fisher), a long-term resident of Ohio, born in Maryland, a woman of God, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, passed away on January 27th at 12:47am. She was surrounded by family, passing peacefully in her home at the age of 90.

She is survived by her children, Floyd Delauter Jr. (Smokey) of Falling Waters WV, Donald and Kelly Delauter of Middletown, MD, Michael Delauter of Falling Waters, WV, Pamela House of Myersville, MD, and Sonya and Bill Bowermaster of Troy, OH, Bryan Delauter of Smithsburg, MD, and a nephew she called her own, Darrell Fisher (Butch) of Hagerstown, MD, her sisters Mary and Phyllis Wills of Frederick, MD, and Barbara Baugher of Walkersville MD, 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Floyd Delauter of Myersville MD, married of 40 years and her parents, Charles and Cora (Early) Fisher. She is also preceded by her oldest son Gary Delauter, Sr. (surviving companion Vickie Crouse) of Martinsburg WV, 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

Irene was born July 22nd, 1934 of Frederick County Maryland. She was an avid mushroom huntin' house wife who loved her babies and everyone else's babies too. She was a strong willed mom and home maker, she always made a lot with just a little.  She was a friend to any and everyone. She was known for magnificent flower beds and her genuine love for every child that came across. She was onery, full of life and always up for a card game. She will be truly and deeply missed by her family, but all are hopeful knowing she will be reunited with her husband in Heaven and joyful knowing she is with Jesus.

Her funeral will be held at her hometown church where she was a lifetime member of, Harmony Church of the Brethren in Harmony, MD on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 1:00 pm, visitation from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm. Interment following at Harmony Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Harmony, MD.
